Approach
I believe meaningful relationships and genuine conversations can make a lasting difference in someone’s life. It is a privilege when someone chooses to share their story with me, and I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring life’s challenges at their own pace. I understand that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, and my goal is to build a trusting relationship where you feel heard, respected, and supported.
Through my work with children, adolescents, and young adults, I have come to appreciate the impact of a supportive relationship and genuine conversation. These experiences continue to shape how I approach therapy and reinforce my belief that growth often begins in small moments when people feel truly seen, understood, and accepted.
I take a collaborative, person-centred approach to counselling, recognizing that every individual brings unique experiences, strengths, and goals to therapy. Together, we will work to better understand the challenges you are facing, build on your existing strengths, and develop practical strategies that support growth in ways that are meaningful to you. My work is informed by person-centred, cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, and trauma-informed approaches, while remaining responsive to your individual needs.
Education & Experience
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Prior to beginning graduate studies, I completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Research Stream) with a minor in Sociology at Brock University, where I developed a strong appreciation for evidence-informed practice and the importance of understanding each person’s unique experiences.
My professional experience has centred on supporting children, adolescents, and young adults in educational, residential, and community settings. Working as both a Front Line Youth Worker and a High School Tutor has allowed me to support individuals navigating emotional, behavioural, academic, and life challenges while collaborating with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams. These experiences have reinforced my belief that every person deserves to feel accepted, supported, and empowered as they work toward their goals.
As part of my undergraduate degree, I completed an honours research thesis exploring trust, first impressions, and how people respond when trust has been broken. Through this experience, I gained a deeper appreciation for evidence-informed practice and recognized that every individual’s story is unique and deserves to be approached with curiosity, openness, and without assumptions.
I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional regulation difficulties. As I continue to grow as a therapist, I remain committed to ongoing learning and toproviding compassionate, evidence-informed care tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.
Whether you are navigating a specific challenge or simply looking for a space to better understand yourself, I look forward to working alongside you as you move toward the life you want to create.
